About Pam Hulshoff

I am an award winning Printmaker and artist. Born in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia, I grew up on farms where redback spiders were around every corner.  I just loved their bright red against the vivid black. In 1957, as part of the resettlement of returned servicemen, my father purchased 3500 acres of virgin land in Jerramungup and so began my love for the country and its landscapes.  The stillness, the vastness, the colours, the soul. I developed a passion and a fascination for the patterns, the shapes, the textures and the colours of the landscape.

Ever since I can remember I have always drawn and painted. As a child I roamed freely and became part of the land and its wonders. I would use art as a way to express my emotions, feelings and visions of the country and landscape around me.

I completed a Diploma in Printmaking through the Department of Technical & Further Training in 1989. In 1996 I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts, majoring in Printmaking through the Western Australia Performing Arts Centre in Mt Lawley. Since graduating I have held several exhibitions and won numerous awards.
